Priorities

Harrison, Monona, Shelby Community Hub

In February 2023, the HMS Hub Collaborative identified 5 priorities that the Hub could focus on (Healthcare Access, Housing Access, Prevention, Basic Needs, and Childcare / Early Childhood Education). Over several months the Collaborative identified strengths, gaps, and data around each of the five priorities.  Based on this information the Collaborative identified Basic Needs as the focus area for the upcoming year.  Basic Needs was broken into two Action Groups, Food Insecurity and Employment/Lack of Income. Action Group members are community agencies and individuals who represent areas of Basic Needs and provide resources to the community. They will be responsible for the work that will drive the impact of the collaboration. Each Action Group will work on establishing a better understanding of the current situation through data or asking questions. They will develop strategies to create new resource paths of communication to align existing programs and community members to work together to maximize access to resources.
